I was so happy to work with Michelle Endersby on our late summer 2018 'Viewpoints' exhibition in Torquay. We both got so much out of the 12 day event, being in St Luke's church put us amongst the community, and the simple pleasures of interacting with locals and tourists alike. One such local, an older gentleman popped his head in and asked if his little dog could inspect the paintings too,  yes of course, we said.  Delighted,  he gave us $10 to buy ourselves a coffee - which we did.  And the young Melbourne lady who bought two of my paintings on the opening day to surprise her surfer husband. The Torquay and District Historical Society who setup camp and told stories of the areas early days - a great eye opener for the visitors.  I was very pleased to present them with my Cecily Lacelles painting at the end of the exhibition.

It was a delightful experience for us both and below is Michelle's wrap up.

Viewpoints Exhibition Wrap Up

Val Parker and I were delighted with our Viewpoints Exhibition experience at St  Luke's Anglican Church in Torquay over the Easter period.  Thank you to all of you who came down to view the exhibition, it was lovely to see you.  We have so many stories to tell so here's just a few highlights.

Cecily Lascelles, the first the person to drive the length of the Great Ocean Road,  was a source of inspiration for us for this exhibition and we are very happy that Val's painting of Cecily and her car is to become part of the display at the Torquay and District Historical Society.  My painting of the Cecily Lascelles rose was purchased by a collector from Brisbane so both of our Cecily paintings found new homes where they will be enjoyed

The Tribute To Treloar Roses series was a real talking point and I even met one lady who had grown eight out of the nine roses in her garden with Granada being the only one she had missed out on.  Lucky that Granada is still available at Treloar Roses in Portland!

Many of Val's breathtaking landscapes and seascapes also found new homes and Val was invited to exhibit two of her pieces in the Maritime Exhibition for the Victorian Artists Society.

I was thrilled that a parishioner from the church purchased all five paintings in the memorial cross and donated them to be hung on permanent display in the church hall in memory of her mother.

And with the knitted remembrance poppies which were part of the display we raised $80 for the local RSL and a fat parcel of poppies was also sent down to Rosedale in Gippsland for their Remembrance Day display.
